WEYMOUTH - CMK Development Partners and John and Mary Nguyen, the owners of John’s Liquors located at 1055 Main Street in Weymouth, are pleased to announce the start of construction of an exciting mixed-use project on the site of John’s Liquors.

John and Mary Nguyen are being joined by Mayor Robert Hedlund and State Senator Patrick O’Connor on October 9, at 11:00 to announce the beginning of construction.

The proposed development will include 24 one-bedroom units, with 6,000 square feet of retail space on the 1st floor.

CMK Development Partners and John and Mary Nguyen have been working for several years to redevelop the John’s Liquors site. The building will be located within walking distance of both the South Weymouth commuter rail station and the region’s largest employer, South Shore Health Systems.

“We are thrilled to be able to break ground on this transformative project for Route 18,” stated Gerry Kavanaugh, the CEO of CMK Development Partners. “Abington Bank, Mayor Hedlund, and State Senator O’Connor have all been first rate partners for us during this pandemic, an unparalleled time in our history. We can’t thank them enough.”

Property owner John Nguyen added, “Mary and I are so grateful for all of the support that everyone has given to this project. We have all worked together to create a highly beneficial project for the town. Everyone involved – Abington Bank, Mayor Hedlund, and the state have gone above and beyond.”
