Holy Family Apartments is a 15 unit adaptive re-use project located in New Bedford, MA. The building is an historically significant former Catholic high school that has been closed for more than 30 years, and is located in the city’s West End, just up the hill from downtown New Bedford.

The project is one of the first affordable historic renovation projects in the city in over a decade, and will turn a blighted, boarded up property into a valuable community asset. The project includes 15 mixed income units - 4 studio apartments and 11 one bedroom apartments.

Financing was provided by various public agencies, all of whom have been extremely helpful in making the project a reality. The total development cost is approximately $3M. Conventional
debt financing was provided by BayCoast Bank.

The architect is William Starck and Associates of Fall River.

The permitting process was completed in June 2021, construction began in September 2022, and was completed in January 2024.
